flat boots for spring

As you may have been seeing all around you and saw a bit in the runway shoes from Paris, flat knee boots are where it’s at right now. And even though winter is on its way out (I say as snow falls from the sky and gathers on the sidewalks here in New York), don’t think flat boots are. A bunch of designers have versions of this style in their lines for spring, and I for one couldn’t be happier. No, flat doesn’t always equal comfy (think no arch support and super pointy toes are only found in high heels? Think again.) But flat is usually more comfortable, for sure. Forbes (not usually what you think of when you think fashion, but hey, I’ll take it where I can get it) has a great slideshow on boots for spring (flat and heeled) over here.
And in the meantime, let’s peek at a few flat boot options.
Nine West Orabella ($163 at Zappos), a fantastic bronze space boot. Just what every girl needs in her shoe closet.

To go Mod, pick up the Sigerson Morrison 6708 (on sale at Zappos for $454 down from $649)

If you’re a size 8 and have $1374 to drop, you can own these gorgeous blue suede numbers by Giuseppe Zanotti.

Or if you’re a 6 or 6.5, snag these lace up Proenza Schouler cuties with patent leather toe and heel caps (at Yoox for $308).

Color me excited.

I loooooove flat boots. Flatness does not scare me in a closed shoe, because I can slip in my trusted orthotics for much needed arch support (flat slides and sandals, however, are a problem). So yeah, flat boots rock–let's see more of them, I say!
