Today’s historical shoe isn’t actually a shoe. It’s a pair of replacement heels in gorgeous Art Nouveau style. They’re from the 1920s in Austria, and they currently reside in the Shoe-Icons Museum.

I wish this was still done today. How excellent an accessory. When your heels wear down or get scratched up beyond repair or just start to bore you, instead of laying out the cash for a new pair, you could just buy a new pair of heels to swap in for the old ones. And when they’re so beautiful and artistic, they could add a whole new category of accessorizing to your outfits.
