This pair of black button boots, late 19th to early 20th century (possibly German), features thirty buttons and an eleven centimetre high heel decorated with inlaid rhinestones. The height of these heels required reinforcing steel pins. Probably fetish shoes, if you ask me. Courtesy of the Bata Shoe Museum.
