Gucci’s Gorgeous Trek Boots
posted by: designer in Gucci Shoes on December 3rd, 2010
I expect certain things from Gucci. I mean, I am just used to certain styles from them, and that’s not a bad thing at all. I’m just saying that the Gucci brand brings to mind certain ideas of what shoes you’re going to see – and I definitely never expected to see the Trek Boot ($795 at Neiman Marcus). Not that I’m disappointed, though, not by any means! In fact, I think these are some of the coolest boots I have ever seen. They are, in fact, in line with the absolutely fabulous Lola Boots I spied a little while ago – also from the renowned label, leading me to believe that Gucci is taking its winter style in a brand new direction.
For one thing, these are flat boots, and typically the designer label is all about heels. That’s cool, of course, because heels are marvelous, but maybe because I’m a short girl, sometimes I have to give in and go with a flat shoe, just to give my ankles a rest! The structure of this boot makes it look like it would actually offer a lot of ankle support. Oooh, I definitely like.
Other awesome aspects include web detailing done up in suede and a tonal trim in luscious leather. For a splash of color, the web loop is rendered in red and green. The hardware is all nickel, which I love. Black and silver always looks so chic together. Add in some fluffy trim for extra warmth and style, and I can safely say that there is not a single thing about these boots that I don’t absolutely love.
Thoughts, opinions? What do you think of this new direction? Should Gucci keep it up or is the label better off with its sleek, chic take on heels and more formal footwear?
