Heidi Klum’s Ghoulish Halloween Costume
Posted on November 3rd, 2008 by Shomore under Celebrity Shoe StyleMost people opt for fairly predictable Halloween outfits. For females, they tend to run on the cute , scantily clad, or somewhat scary side. Yawn, right?
That is why I appreciated Heidi Klum’s Halloween costume so much. For a supermodel with an amazing figure, it would be predictable to arrive as a sexy kitten or some other suggestive costume. Instead, Heidi opted for the most original and elaborate costume I’ve ever seen. Dressed up as Hindu God Vishnu (at least that’s what I think based on blue skin and arms), the beautiful Mrs. Seal looked downright scary from toe to head (this is, after a shoe blog, so we have to start off on the right foot).
The ghoulish blue clawed feet rested on 2+ inch platforms and on the skulls of the dead. Complementing those devilish platform shoes were beautiful jewelry and embellishment, possibly the spoils of war up for grabs when all those PR lawsuits are settled.

Heidi’s gorgeous face was pretty hideous too. The blue makeup, red contacts, long vampirish fangs, and angry scowl rendered the face virtually unrecognizable.
And finally, this is the 8 armed costume in its entirety. I’m a stickler for details and this costume completely blew me away. But really, I’m left wondering if the skulls on the necklace and bloody head/arm belt have any symbolic meaning, like the heads of people she’s like to off for putting PR in limbo… Nah, I’m sure it was all in the name of good and clean fun.

I believe Ms. Klum represents Kali, Hindu goddess of death and destruction (or time and change). Kali images show the belt of arms and a necklace of heads.

Heidi Klum was wearing a costume of the Hindu Goddess Kali. Very offensive to Hindus worldwide and represents the continual denigration of Hinduism by the Christian World.

Considering that Hindu children dress up as the various gods and goddeses every year, this should not be offensive. If anything, it should be seen as a way to educate people on the goddess Kali. Unfortunately, too many people simplify her as the goddess of death and destruction ,but what they don’t know is that it is the death and destruction of the ego which is directly related to the body (IE; the skulls and arms) that she is actually destroying . It is our attachment to the body that creates ignorance and a self centered view of reality. she is a loving goddess who is there to help those who strive to know God.
