Hunter Tall Shearling OTK Boot

Totally in fickle, seasonal like with this tall shearling OTK boot by Hunter, the great Wellies creator. It’s about time they made something like this!
Looks like something great for romping around Hempstead Heath on Bonfire Night, a.k.a. Guy Fawkes Day, which my boyfriend will soon be attending in London. I’m jealous. He remarked when we visited one of my favorite shops in Boston, The Tannery, that it’s funny how into Hunter Americans are (he’s a Brit) – that we see it more as a luxury brand, whereas in London most people won’t pull on their Wellies even in the rain, and that Wellies are for tromping around at a farm weekend or with the horses. I, on the other hand, think of the Jimmy Choo collab when I think of Wellies, and of how they’re too expensive for rubber boots! In America they have attained a status and fashion symbol. Upper East Side Gossip Girls seem to favor these rain boots!
The rounded toe and stable grip platform as well as the thick shearling are great, but sadly I cannot pay almost $500 for these weather warmers and am not sure that that price is justified when slightly less beautiful lower level boots are retailing for SO much less! If you get them, let me know if they’re worth the Louboutin-level price!
