Evidently, I’ve got oxfords on the mind lately–so bear with me while I try to sort out how I feel about the trend (or just ignore my rants and chuck them to the every-growing pool of things whose depths I mine to feed my OCD-nature). I was complaining the other day that there’s no flat sandal-oxford-thingie on the market–and that they are all super-duper-high. I even speculated that without the 4-inch heel, they might look kinda blah.

Turns out I was both right and wrong. They do exist, as a matter of fact–but they look kinda…meh.

Opening Ceremony lace-up flat sandals, $310 at eLuxury. I don’t love them (though I find their beige version a little more palatable).

However, I did find these cut-out oxford canvas flats, in white, also from Opening Ceremony, quite intriguing ($300 at eLuxury):

They look a little like this (only $68 at Urban Outfitters):

Then again, there are this interesting wedge lace-up sandals–not flat, but not that high, either ($288 at Anthropologie):

Not a bad looking shoe, though not something I would wear. Nor would I wear this, though it’s admittedly sparkled my curiosity ($125 at UrbanOutfitters):

I can’t say I’m fully satisfied with the choices, but I’m happy there are some. I’ll keep looking (and feeding my oxford-sandal OCD).
