Inaugural Shoes, Inaugural Category

And it is also official that the new First Lady is kicking off an era of some doubtless excellent style for the White House.
Today’s Isabel Toledo outfit was nothing less than the elegant chic I am coming to expect from Michelle Obama. And not only do I love that she had a pashmina sewn into the coat’s lining to add some warmth, but I love that she paired the yellow outfit with green gloves (from J. Crew) and green shoes [ETA: After further research, the shoes appear to be Jimmy Choo's Glacier pumps. Since they're from the fall/winter 2008 collection, they're already scarce on the ground, and after their appearance at the inaugural festivities, I imagine they'll only get harder to find.]

Have to say that I strongly disagree that what she wore was a good fashion choice! I did not like it one single bit and looking at all the photos makes me not like it even more! Not a good choice of colors for such an historical event such as today.

I am fairly ambivalent about this look. She carried it off well. I don’t hate it, don’t love it. I do wish someone would show MO how to walk more gracefully.

I love the shoes! I think that the outfit could be better, but she definitely looks great in it. I am looking forward to more fashions, and shoes from Michelle!

I agree that she looked fantastic! Way to go pairing green with the lemongrass yellow, and to try two different shades on the gloves and the shoes. It’s not as carefully practiced or as pristine as I have come to expect from political figures. I feel like she takes subtle chances with her fashion, and that’s refreshing.

I think her choice of outfits were great. The green shoes and gloves were the perfect additions to her inauguration. I don’t think she should be compared to Jackie O. She’s got her own style and she rocks it her way!!!! Go Michelle

I thought Michelle was simply stunning. She makes me so proud!!! I think she looks fabulous and I really believe she’s part of the full-footed sisters club. Like me, I believe she wears a size 11…maybe larger. Michelle should stop by my large-size shoe blog, http://www.yourfeetmakeyouunique and let us in on her shoe size. It will make us “big feet” girls proud.

Michelle Obama is the definition of a classy woman and just like my wife, I can only hope that my young pre-teen daughter will follow in their footsteps and dress like royalty like Michelle does daily.
