Jil Sander Reverse Heel
Posted on April 8th, 2008 by Shomore under Walking DisastersThis season, designers seem to have a penchant for interesting but highly impractical locations for heels placement. Marc Jacobs reintroduced the backward/inverted heel and the missing heel has been done by Antonio Berardi. So what location haven’t we covered? Ah yes, what about the reverse heel by Jil Sander. For only $575, you’ll get a shoe with zero arch support.

What. The. Hell.
*Jaw drops, hits floor.*
May I add, whoever buys it, is also susceptible to buying the Emperor’s New Invisible Clothes: so refined and so pricey, but oh-so-ridiculously not there.

Boy, you would have to be pretty adventurous to wear those!
I would like to see what it looks like with a foot in it!

Make sure you have good health insurance. Any shoe without support under the metatarsal bridge (the “palm” of the foot) will result in stress in the tibia and associated nerves (and possibly produce sciatica). That will be a costly shoe.

Actually they are very comfortable. I got a pair for about 75% off. Still pricey and more than i would normally pay for a pair of dressy sandals, but these are so unique. I need arch support in my flat shoes, but since these are not flat, arch support is not necessary.
