Jimmy Choo for H&M: A first look
posted by: HerberWellss in Jimmy Choo Shoes on October 19th, 2009
We have all been waiting for photos of the Jimmy Choo line that will be sold in select H&M stores on November 14, 2009. Here are some of the latest, released shoe and handbag photos. There is lots of sparkle and shine for the holiday season, priced around $129.
General reaction has been mixed. Some say that the only reason they will be purchased is because they are Jimmy Choos, some say these styles are just more of the same, others say they are fab. What do you think?

Marta, It is my understanding the uppers are leather, the soles, I am not sure.
Anyone out there know?

Soooo excited! Although, I agree…many of the styles have already been done. Does anyone know what material they're made of?
I remember when I was living in Italy, Roberto Cavalli did a line for H&M, I loved it.

Honestly, a plain black knock-off of the Choo tribal shoe would probably cost $60 at Aldo, $120 by Madden & $200 by Pour La Victoire.
At least with the Choo name, the styling should be on-par with the high-end originals & the materials should be comparable to the standard knock-of suspects operating in the lower price ranges.
Heck. Why shouldn’t Choo be the one to profit from their own designs? Let’s be honest, If they don’t do this, someone else will make a copy or inspired-design based on popular style & sell to the more budgeted market anyway. As long as they are not exact duplicates of high-end styles they will not directly dilute their main brand. Plus, at introductory prices, they stand a good chance of attracting younger customers and perhaps establishing brand recognition that will translate to brand loyalty as those young women transition into the paid working world.

One of those pair of heels certainly looks like the real Jimmy Choo version priced at 1000 dollars that was sold out in Europe and getting there in the US. Although I like the idea of buying this cheaper H&M version, at the same time, if I had had really bought that 1000 dollar pair, I'd hate for other women to be walking around with their "knock-offs". But to each their own.

H&M just opened a store in Scottsdale. There is some speculation that we will get some of the Choo shoes to increase traffic and interest in the store. I am trying to decide if it is worth driving an hour, to stand in line a couple of more hours to look and perhaps buy a pair of shoes.

I like them. Because they are sparkly. Haha. But yeah, I can easily find cheaper versions somewhere else.

My goodness, I think this Jimmy Choo line is quite simply amazing…those grey booties are almost death worthy. And the leopard print and blue ankle strap heels are really really edgy and fun. This is one of the best lines that H&M has done with a premier designer…kuuudddooos!

It will depend on who you ask. For those that have the money to purchase Jimmy Choos, they might not like H&M's diffusion line because of the similarities in look. But for those that normally can't afford Choos, H&M offers an affordable alternative albeit at the sacrifice of quality.
Personally, I think it's great to give fashionistas an opportunity to own a pair of more affordable Choos.
