I am kind of at a loss here. Like, for as much as I love Jimmy Choo, I am not sure how to feel about these boots. Oh, I know you see them there. These big, silver wellies. Specifically, these are Jimmy Choo’s Metallic Croc-Stamped Wellington Boots ($227.50 at Net-a-Porter). I feel … I don’t know. On the one hand, I think they are awesome – obviously, because otherwise I wouldn’t have chosen them in the first place. On the other hand … wow. In other news, in keeping with Net-a-Porter’s gigantic site wide sale, these are down over two hundred dollars, from an OG price of $455.
See, here’s my thing. I love silver. I love wellies too, I have no idea why. But these are really silver. Genuine Hunter Wellingtons, which is incredibly awesome, they definitely get a glamorous Jimmy twist. Made of rubber, the finish with its crocodile stamp detailing is more than merely silver, it’s downright molten.
On the front, you get a signature Jimmy Choo stamp in red and white, so everyone will know your wellies are totally designer. The rounded toe is stylish and the buckled strap at the top is fully functional. All very cool.
But these boots are really, really silver. They sort of remind me of moon boots or something. So my question is this: do you think you would actually wear these? Or are they a little bit too haute couture for a regular rainy day? Do you think they could work with just the right outfit?
