Jimmy Choo Shoe Showdown: Amanda Seyfriend or Taraji Henson?
Posted on February 23rd, 2009 by Shomore under Celebrity Shoe Style, Jimmy Choo Shoes, Shoe ShowdownOkay readers, who wore Jimmy Choo’s ‘Night’ sandal the best - Amanda Seyfried on the Oscar red carpet or Taraji Henson at the Vanity Fair Oscar After Party? Since I wasn’t a fan of Amanda’s ensemble, Taraji wins this one for me BUT my preference would have been a nude version of Jimmy Choo’s ‘Night’ (like the one below) instead. It would have been a perfect match with her Nina Ricci dress.
- Jimmy Choos at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards
- Taraji Henson at the Independent Spirit Awards
- Shoes on the 81st Annual Oscar Red Carpet
- For once, it’s all in the dress: The best dress of the 2008 SAG Awards
- Spring 2008 Shoe Trend Alert - Nude shoes, nude flats, nude sandals!
- MTV Movie Awards 2009 Red Carpet Shoes

I agree, and I think the nude would have looked better on both of them. A nude sandal is a great secret to elongating your legs.

Except on Taraji, that color would not be nude at all. Geesh. Her skin is brown.

No need to go looking for reasons to be offended.
I’m sure that Shomore could tell that Taraji’s skin color. However, the common term (while not universally accurate in regard to skin tone) for tan shoes ranging from off-white to cafe-au-lait is ‘Nude’. And that neutral lighter color on a shoe would have played better with the natural/off-white dress Taraji wore.

I’m going off the official Jimmy Choo website. They have termed the sandal color pictured as ‘nude’ and I’m deferring to their naming conventions.

Well I apologize to Shomore, i was actually addressing my post to #1, because she said the nude sandal would elongate her leg. Since it’s not close to her skin tone, that is not a true statement.

Well, in the case of elongation, yes, the tone closest to whatever leg/stocking color you are showing tends to have the best lengthening effect. In this particular case, the darker shoe against a lighter gown is slightly off-putting. Guess it’s probably a tough fashion call all the way around.
Luly, I I’m not trying to be angry or aggressive - it’s hard to tell tone sometimes in written statements we make online. I just love that this site tends to be friendly & accessible & hope to help keep it that way. Please keep feeling welcome to come & comment here. We do love having a diverse group of shoe & fashion lovers involved.
My apologies if I came off as excessively harsh - I also spend part of each day doing spammer control & moderation on our forums, so sometimes I can be a bit blunt.

Without doubt the nude sandal does elongate the legs. The colour is hard to determine without seeing them in real life.

I agree with the comments on the nude shoe. Especially with that gorgeous pink dress. I’m not sure the clutches work either…

Having followed Asian Fashion for many years, I know there are many replica’s out there….but its not until your really close to JC’s that you appreciate the quality and time that goes into each pair.
