LAMB vs. Dollhouse & Type Z

Sometimes it’s difficult to tell when a style is simply inspired by recent trends rather than a knockoff of a specific designer’s shoe.

Not so in this case.

Behold spring’s ‘Joelle’ from the LAMB shoe line.

LAMB ‘Joelle’ $383 $251.99 via Heels.com , $208.45 via Endless.com & $195 via Zappos.com

VS.

Dollhouse ‘Burkenna’ $59.95 via Endless/ Type Z  ‘Jacoba’ $99 $71.28 @ Zappos & $66.50 @ 6pm

I’m not exactly going out on a limb here by pointing out the similarities between the LAMB originals and these styles from Dollhouse and Type Z.

I will note that I am a bit relieved that neither brand has decided to make mirror-image copies.  If you are going to get a look for less, I prefer that there be easy differentiation from the original style. (YMMV).

I admit to liking the Dollhouse primarily due to the change to a closed toe. I’m still wishy-washy on the whole peep-toes-on-boots thing; nice to look at, but too impractical when rain & snow are a regular part of my Pac NW life. I also like the addition of a hidden platform.

Plus, the Dollhouse comes in jewel-toned blue, which the LAMB never offered.  Squee !!! This color makes my heart all fluttery……..

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<Blue….Sigh>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Aside from that, the LAMB is definitely the way to go. The quality and level of detail is just so apparent compared to the Type Z bootie. Plus, it has the gold hardware, which makes it an easy evening out choice. The silver hardware of the Type Z almost looks gunmetal in color, making it feel more casual in tone.

Sorry V. Not exactly spam, but somebody's blogger service that 'looks for similar posts' decided something in this post or title made it perfect for their 'bot' to post. I cleaned out most of it just so that real commentors can jump in if they want.

And I'm kind of wearing thin on my personal attraction to studded shoes. But the trend is at it's height, so it's kind of impossible as a shoeblog to ignore their presence. So I look for variety, deals, look-alikes – whatever might be interesting. Other readers out there will probably love that the crest of the stud trend seems to have hit us so that lower priced alternatives are available to them.
