Lanvin High Tops
Posted on April 6th, 2008 by shoesense under GeneralMaybe spending $50 for a Converse high top is not exactly your idea of high fashion. Spending over $700, though? On a Lanvin high-top? Maybe.
According to the New York Times, Lanvin’s spring collection of silk, suede, mesh and metallic patent leather high-tops, outlandishly priced, are super-hot right now. True–they’re supposedly men’s styles, but look at this “taffeta” mesh one with suede trim and copper toe ($730 at Barney’s):
I’d wear them for a glammed-up basketball game.
Or, maybe I’ll just stick to to Converse. Yep, I think so.

Wow! Only if I was the star of a Back To The Future remake would I consider adding these as a part of my wardrobe!
I remember when high tops used to cost no more than $30 back in the 80’s…
