Last hurrah for the summer
Posted on September 17th, 2007 by shoesense under WedgesWhen did fall come, all of a sudden? It seems that only a few days ago we were fighting unbearable humidity and a heat index that made my dog get out of breath two minutes into his walk. And today? Crisp, cool, golden air, chilly mornings and nights, and–best of all, the opportunity to wear just about any shoe you might fancy, coordinated with whatever layered combination.
Just in case you harbor some nostalgia for the summer, however, here’s a little-something something to assuage those Monday blues: these turquoise-and-green wedges from Roberta di Camerino, currently on sale for $134 at Yoox:
With a sensible 2.5 inches height, a leather sole, and beautifully crafted canvas uppers, this espadrille is better suited to a stroll along the boardwalk than to, say, going back to school or the office or whatnot. However, if you find some lingering traces of summer somewhere and you’re unwilling to let go of them, this is a shoe to celebrate them with.
