Lindsay Phillips Interchangables

Last week business took me to Ocean Isle Beach,  North Carolina.  It is quite a charming place.   In one of the tourist shops, I found a line of shoes by Lindsay Phillips that were a lot of fun.  You start with a basic sandal or shoe, then change the look by changing the embellishments.  The flip flops have velcro on the straps and another line has a heavy duty snap that allows you to change the decorations.  I was like a kid in a candy shop.  Let me show you what I am talking about.

Here is the basic sandal I purchased. (These photos are off the web site.)

Carol Flip Flop in Beet $49.00

Here are a couple of the embellishments I purchased.

They were $12.50 each.

This is where a good website can be highly entertaining.  The Lindsay Phillips website shows what your shoes look like with each decoration.

Here are the flip flops:

and now, with the sandals

I purchased the snap-on embellishment because the snap ons looked like they weren’t an afterthought and, quite frankly,  the velcro straps looked a little cheesy.  You can see the velcro lifting on the corner of  the orange straps above and I could see that happening with a fair amount of walking.

The shoes and sandals seem to be well constructed and are just the ticket for casual dress days.

I bought a pair of black kitten heels from Lindsey Phillips last year! The embellishments are amazing, and I love being able to switch up my shoes from day to day. I fully plan to buy their leopard print flat this summer.

I like the sandals that you can put some embelishment on it. But the flip flops, hmmm, how do they stay put? You say with a velcro and all. I don't think it can withstand long walks.

There is velcro on the straps of the flip flops, and also on the v-looking straps. The finished look wasn't as nice as the snap thingie.

Wait, so the buttons pop into the center? Thats really neat! What holds them in place, do they stay put relatively well?

There is a snap about the size of your second fingernail at the center of the decoration that you can unsnap and replace with another. They have held together very well. I am wearing the heck out of these shoes and they don't come loose.
