Look what I got!

They’re here, they’re here, they’re here!!!  My first pair of Dr. Martens arrived yesterday. Hooray!

Can you tell I’m excited? These babies are so awesome. They so completely rock, I’m on the verge of squealing like a little girl.

I’m not really sure how I managed to miss owning a pair of Doc’s all this time, but that has now been rectified.  Maybe I just needed to wait for the right pair to come along; one with just the right amount of feminine details mixed with kickin’ attitude to feel just right. And, after taking these on a trial run for at least two hours around the house yesterday evening, I am in love.  My husband was busy laughing at me from the other room while I was going through all the skirts and dresses in my closet to see which items would work with these quirky boots.

So, here is my newest excuse not to act my age:

(Dr. Martens. Women’s 14 Eye Zip. $59.99 clearance at Famous Footwear, $139.99 Shoes.com)

They are a wonderful ivory/ecru color with interwoven strips of feminine eyelet fabric all along the boot shaft.

Years ago, I wore a pair of allover ivory-lace granny ankle boots for my wedding; had these boots been around, they would have been a serious contender for the job. Along the same vein, I would also like to show you a couple of other Doc’s that I wouldn’t have minded wearing down the aisle:

(Dr. Martens Laser-cut 14 Eye Zip Boot $117 Zappos.com)

Doc4

(Women’s Dr. Martens Embroidery Vonda 14 Eye Boot $149.95 Shoebuy.com & Endless.com)

For some of us, there are times we just don’t want to go along with the crowd. Dr. Martens are great for those times. And, from my experience, you either love or hate the look of them.  Guess I’m off the fence on these – any shoe that makes me smile this much is a personal winner.

Please please please can you let me know where to get these they match my wedding dress perfectly. I have been looking for them for almost 2years now and cannot find them anywhere. The embroidered ones or the laser cut ones would be perfect. If anyone can help make my dream come true I would be s grateful.

Thank you for inspiring me. I owned a pair of black ones a while back and I thought I would never wear them again. Time for me not to act my age too. Love shoes, love your blog.
