Louboutin Maralena Crystal-Covered Mesh Peep-Toe Pumps

My fiance has so many work dos happening for the holidays that I am constantly on the lookout for the appropriate formal shoes. I browse Christian Louboutin all the time, and even if I can’t necessarily afford his fabulous Maralena Crystal-Covered Mesh Peep-Toe Pumps ($2,445 at Saks), a girl can dream, can’t she? I am actually utterly heartbroken over the fact that I will probably never own a pair of these myself; not even the possibility of finding something almost like them for less money will console me.
Can you blame me? Look at them. These pumps are a classic example of shoes becoming masterpieces, utter works of art. They are just dazzling and regardless of the peep-toe, they are perfect for winter. Wearing them, you would look like you are wearing snowflakes and ice on your feet. The mesh inlay makes those crystals look like they are suspended, just hanging there as if by magic. To die, lovelies, to die!
I love that the mesh is transparent. I love, too, that the heel itself is just encrusted with crystals. It’s no wonder these go for over two grand. The heel is a stunning 5 and ½ inches, although the hidden, ¾ of an inch platform renders it a little shorter than that. The slingback is totally flexible, so you could dance all night and still stay comfortable – huge bonus. And, of course, for a little added splash of color, you will find Christian Louboutin’s signature racy red heel. To die!
There are a lot of peep-toes out there for winter. Do you think designers assume we’re cool with wearing pantyhose and stockings, or do you figure they think we’ll suffer frostbite for fashion?
