Manolo Blahnik: Kahika Floral Cut-out Boots

(Manolo Blahnik ‘Kahika’ cut-out floral suede boots $1445 at Nordstrom & Nieman Marcus)
One thing that is as inevitable as the changing of the seasons as they cycle through their yearly progress is the guarantee that I will have at least one unattainable* shoe-crush during each of these seasons. With Manolo Blahnik’s black-suede Kahika boots, I may have found said crush for this fall.
Romantic and Feminine? Check.
Unique, yet not-too-trendy? Check.
Oh, and flowers, flowers, flowers? Check, check, check.
$1445?!! Unfortunately, check.
<sadness>
Yes, indeed, I am well-and-truly crushed by these.
*Unattainable defined as, ‘I have too many other household or other budgetary priorities to currently allow myself to spend this amount of cash or credit on any pair of shoes, no matter how decadent and lovely they may be’. Those readers not so limited by budget or sticker shock may feel free to indulge to their delight; I can live vicariously through the knowledge that others are wearing these lovelies where I dare not.

It's getting to the point where I might just start going with custom-made shoes once our debt is all paid off. for the price, I'll get something fitted just to me & still probably get more shoes for the money.

The Niemanmarcus.com site has these modeled on the leg. They look just as good on the wearer. Le Sigh
And sticker shock is everywhere with shoes these days. Prices increasing 30-200% during a global recession??!! We average-budgeted shoe-obsessives can't keep up.

These are gorgeous as they are, but will really come to life once they are slipped on!
re: 'Unattainable', 'sticker shock'…lol, I like.
