Marc Jacobs Glitter Lace-Up Loafers

Leave it to Marc Jacobs to come up with some luscious little loafers, you know? I don’t know if it’s the glitter or what, but I have sort of fallen in love with Mr. Marc’s Glitter Lace-Up Loafers ($541.99 at Saks), which happen to be on sale right now, just as an FYI and by the bye. I know, I know, they have to be a stellar pair of loafers to be worth that much, right? Well, yeah, of course – but they are. I mean, look at them!

These are like … Las Vegas loafers. But what can I say, I love the sweet touch Marc Jacobs has with glitter. He just does it so well, even I can’t resist it, and I tend to avoid glitter like the plague. But I could neither avoid nor ignore the glitz and glamor of these scrumptious little Oxfords, not for anything in the world. I adore Oxfords. They’re so retro yet edgy – and these are even edgier, not just because of the glitter, either.

I love the silver and gold contrast. I mean, maybe it’s just me, I know it’s actually grey, but the flat leather of the shoe looks a little silver to me, a subtle kind of gunmetal. Either way, the combination works brilliantly.

Better still, they have a stacked heel, it’s good for ¾ of an inch worth of height. The bottom contrasts, the rounded toe is classic Oxford style, and there is perforated detailing all over the body of the shoe.

Okay, but let’s be honest: would you actually wear these out and about? Or are they just a little too glitzy for every day wear?
