Marc Jacobs Houndstooth Leather Brogues

Remember those Marc Jacobs loafers I fell in love with a while ago?
Well, he did it again, and I am seriously super tempted this time. Check out these gorgeous Houndstooth Leather Brogues ($205.50 at Net-a-Porter). I am in throes of ecstasy, I swear it. You know what the very, very best part is? They typically cost $685. And now they are down to $205.50. They are three times less than they are supposed to be. They are 70 percent off. I mean, I can’t resist that. I’m of the Oscar Wilde philosophy of thought: a., the only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it; and 2., I can resist everything except temptation, darlings.
These are black and silver. Black and silver! Those are my colors! And in spite of the metallic silver, the shoes are still understated. They are both flashy and classy. Plus, I love houndstooth. I love the pattern in clothing, and I love it on these as well. The leather is just delicious and the pattern is gorgeous done up in black and metallic. I could seriously just die.
They don’t have laces, these brogues, but they do have panels of elastic to make them easy to slip on and off. The heels are rounded, so it makes the overall rockabilly feel a lot subtler. The whole bits are trimmed in black leather, which just adds to the peel – especially with the spat like solid color of the toe.
I know these aren’t to everyone’s style. That’s the thing about Marc Jacobs, you either really love his shoes, or you really don’t. But someone has to be here with me, right? Winter is a great time for flat shoes, and aren’t these wicked awesome?

Hey,
With a design as flashy as this with such a high tag price, I'm surprised. As much as I like this design and think it's super creative, no wonder it's already dropping into discounted-land. It is too "fashionable" with not enough conscious "style" Unfortunately, not timeless. However, if you are in for a city-photo-shoot or some sort of arty-metrosexual magazine centerpiece, these are perfect.
