Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 Shoes

A seventies motif was in full bloom on the Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 Runway. To match the colorful ensembles, richly hued flowers sprouted from well manicured feet and the heel, although quite high, actually looks thick enough to be supportive and walkable.
Equally divine were feathery ankle wrapped sandals:
Whereas this ankle wrap was a bit too reminiscent of Rene Caovilla’s serpent/snake signature shoes.

At least chunky heels are more comfortable than kitten heels from my experience.
They sure look good though.

Yes, I too 'understand' the necessity of the chunky heel for the silhouette. Nonetheless, still hideous.

I don't mind the occasional chunky shoe/sandal if it is balanced. These are much more balanced overall than the Kirkwoods.

The whole collection was 70s influenced. Shiny overalls, big hats, hotpants, Skittles colors, it is a fun collection to look at. Marc understands that the chunky heel is necessary for that silhouette.

I'm seeing a trend here Marc Jacobs, Nicholas Kirkwood? PLEEEEASE tell me we aren't going back to those horrid clunky, chunky, matronly and just plain fugly heels.
