Marcell Chunky Heels
Posted on July 13th, 2009 by Shomore under Walking DisastersI’m sorry, I love a chunky heel because it is easier to walk in. However, I am simply not feeling any love towards these Marcell Lace up sandals ($512 at Luisaviaroma). The chunky heel looks as if it broke off and someone clumsily attempted to glue it back together.
Maybe someone agreed with me, because they decided to cover up the broken heel over Marcell’s peep toe bootie version ($538 at Luisaviaroma) buckle strap.

They are a cross between a leg of a forgotten cyborg and an unfinished building.

I’m on the fence about these. Cause their not everyday or even going out. Their more like runway heels that made it to the street. Like a concept car that was mass produced.

Definitely prefer the buckle strap.

Well it’s obvious that the heels is intended to look raw and perhaps broken, but that’s part of the beauty of it. I for one love the first pair.

The heels look like tumbs. For me thumbs up to the black ones!

Definitely loving the black shoes. But I agree, there’s just something wrong with the brown - they look a little too “old lady”

I don’t know if someone is supposed to wear it, or erect an Amish house with it.
I’ve been wondering similar things about these boots: who in the world would wear them? http://bit.ly/1FuDk

uhhhh they designer based the heal on the the human thumb. that was the purpose and also the creative intention and vision.

Knowing the inspiration doesn’t make me like these more. They are funky, but don’t work for me. I like a more elegant line most of the time.
