Maria Blaisse Designs at Camper
Posted on December 7th, 2009 by trainingheels under GeneralHow could these possibly be shoes, you ask?
If you’re avant-garde Dutch designer, sculptor and artist Maria Blaisse, they’re shoes if you look at them right and know how to wear them, that’s how. Camper Together is a series of collaborations between Camper and various artists, designers and architects.
From Dazed & Confused magazine: “(Blaisse) began in the early 80s’ by creating spherical foam forms that moulded and folded in ways that were revolutionary at the time and she worked primarily in dance wear where she is still breaking new ground today. Blaisse then went on to collaborate with Issey Miyake for whom she made mitre-like rubber hats.”
I have to confess to you that I would like to wear these boots. Just to see what they felt like. Okay, and I kind of like them too.
Some other items I saw at Camper. I think they’re doing a lovely job of continuing to make comfortable shoes, but they seem much more fashionable these days. I love this boot.
