Martinez Valero: Carla
Posted on January 14th, 2010 by galligator under Endless, General, High heels, Sandals, Trend Alert, Walking Disasters, Zappos, spring 2010 shoesHave you see these Martinez Valero dark turquoise, peacock-feather, fringed sandals?
Martinez Valero ‘Carla’ $174.95 at Endless & $179 at Zappos
Glamorous!
….or is my Over-the-Top radar misbehaving?
There’s something about peacock details that, when done correctly, adds an immediate fashion wow-factor.
These are working for me.
(Yeah, I know, they also come in black. Pshaw! It’s just not the same.)
Anyway, I originally saw these on an endless.com banner back in December:
But, ba-bing, clicking through the banner and eventually through the main website, they were nowhere to be found by either color or keyword as I tried to find out the maker – so I that I could (naturally) share these babies with all of you.
However, that has recently changed, and these luxe sandals are now (back?) in stock at endless – allowing me to get a style name and then proceed to compare prices at both Zappos and Martinez Valero.
I am loving these. But, I can see that these might be one of those love ‘em or hate ‘em statement shoes.
So, how about you – Love or Hate?

I love the color but i dont like where they have placed the feathers. they look rather costumey

The color is amazing on these. I do not know if even I would wear something this flashy, but they are attention-getter enough to be worth a word or two.
The shoe stopped me in my tracks. Maybe it’s another one of those ’shoes as art’ styles, but I love the look of this. Of course, I can’t afford to buy every shoe that is pretty to look at but might never actually get worn, I’d have to open a museum & charge admission.

I love the shoes. Would probably even wear them for parties. My family, which is VERY conservative, all think I am nuts when they look at my shoes. Mr R5 thinks I am nuts too. I have a couple of statement shoes, and they don’t have my size, so I won’t purchase these, but they are a wonderful shoe.

Hmm I’m on almost-hate. They look like one would wear for a costume dance routine. I love the feathered one, though

Laughing … Stalker. They do make me think of a ballroom dancing costume. Maybe that is why I love them. I am always a bit over the top when it comes to dressing up.

don’t like. maybe not hate but def not like. the feathers look cheap and tacky. plus the shoes themselves are just boring and not creative. you could literally buy a pair of cheap stilletos and tack on a bunch of peacock feathers and come up with shoes just as good. and maybe it’s just me but the shoes make the model’s feet look huge!
maybe the black ones are ok… but even the black ones, louboutin have feather shoes that are way more elegant and beautiful.

Maybe you just have to be one of those people who loves peacock patterns.

It is indeed glamorous! But i like it when the hair style will be removed because it looks like a horse hair for me.

R5, Looks like a comment-spammer. They are less likely to get caught by the Askimet ’spaminator’. But, when it’s out of context like this, it’s unintentionally entertaining.
