Miu Miu: Naplak patch spectator

After all the crazy, surreal, phantasmagoric even footwear displays at the European fashion shows, I felt the need for a little break–for something more…let’s say mundane. More here and now. More accessible by clicking your mouse a couple of times. Something that could even materialize in your mailbox in a few days if your credit card can stand the pain. Even something (and now you will excuse me if I’m talking crazy here) wearable.
I must admit that I couldn’t pull off this Miu Miu Vernice Pop pump for the life of me ($525 at Saks):

It’s a 4 1/4 inch heel and no platform. I mean, come on, who has a chance to even make it to the end of the block without wincing?
However, the elasticized flat version is about 100 times more wearable (albeit less spectacular):

Same design, minus the heel. I love the patent color combo and the spectator styling–looks like a delicious Italian desert, with a cherry on top. The Miu Miu Naplak patch spectator flat is $395 at Saks (does that mean that the price difference stands for how much the 4 1/4 inch heels cost? That would be $130 to you ladies, nothing to sneeze at!).

I had to have these the second I saw them. True, they aren't comfortable but they were too fabulous to refuse. Evertime they're on my feet they are most certainly a conversation piece!
