Monticello Shoes

Monticello Shoes made a posting in the forum, and I went to the site to see what they offered.  I am quite impressed.  I have a pair of Mandi’s I am test driving.  Here is the review.

Some people are shoe box people, so here’s the shoebox.  Monticello Shoe’s box unfolds.  It is a fairly substantial box, and comes with a pink dust cover.

Here are the shoes.  Mandi.  The leather is pebbled gray and the ankle strap is very soft.  The buckle has fun spring colors, orange, pink, and natural.

Close-up of the buckle and leather.

How do the shoes fit?  My feet are on the wide side, about a B.5, have a high instep, and thick ankles.  (Lots of fun shopping for shoes huh?)  The strap over my instep is long enough.  The ankle strap is just long enough.  My feet sort of overlap the edge of the soles, but that is something I deal with everyday.   This photo was taken after walking around all day.  There is a little gapping because these are all leather, not an elastic in sight.  The gapping has to be there to accomodate movement of the foot.

Here is what I love about these shoes.  I am a leather sole girl.  That is the first thing I look for when I look at shoes.  It isn’t a deal breaker, but given a choice between synthetic soles and leather,  I go for the leather.  These have leather soles, with their monogram on the bottom.  Now, these are FLAT.  There is a little padding, but not a lot. If you are walking on hard surfaces all day long, your legs will feel it at the end of the day.

I went to Safeway, the Post Office, and R5grandaughter’s preschool.  I got 4 compliments on these shoes…from strangers. That rarely happens. Even more important, I wore these out of the box, wore them all day, with no breakin time, and got ZERO blisters.  This shoe is a little more than $100, a fair price in my opinion.  I think they are a great shoe.  On a scale of 1-10.  I give it an 8.

Below are more shoes in Monticello Shoe’s Spring/Summer Collection..

The colored heels are ingenious.  $ 150.  I hope they offer more of the colored heels, because you don’t see them anywhere else.

Several brides wear colored shoes, and  prom season is upon us.  These red satin pumps are just the ticket.    $110.  They have such wonderful lines.

When my daughter saw these shoes, she thought they would be fun as party shoes. $130.

For work, look at these lower heel slingbacks.  $110.  Love the purple color.

Monticello Shoes  have great designs,  are priced well for their quality, carry sizes 5 to 11, and are nice people.  If you are in Norfolk VA,  in the Monticello Arcade, stop by, chat with them, and try their shoes on.

I love Monticello Shoes! I tried out a pair of their 'Anna' sandals, and found them very comfortable and well-made. Those sandals are cute!
