Natalie Portman Shoes for Te Casan

They’re here! Well, they’re here for pre-order at the Te Casan website.

Yes, I’m talking about Natalie Portman’s line of vegan shoes.

The first styles from the new line are up on the site, and you can preorder them to your heart’s content (well, up to the 100 pair per style per size limit, that is).

Personally, I’m not blown away by any of them. They’re a bit on the simple side for my taste, but they are indeed classy and dressy and presumably higher quality than a lot of the other vegan lines out there, which are often made with pretty poor materials just because they happen to not come from animals.

Let’s take a look, shall we.

The Pippa mary jane pump ($325) looks particularly snazzy in this silver.

The Pia ballet flat ($185) is cute with its little strap across the toes.

And… well… those are the only two I particularly liked. The rest just seem a tad too basic, although I recognize that may well be the point: to provide vegan shoe lovers an option for classy, basic, well-made shoes. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

I’ll certainly keep my eyes open to see what future styles come down the pike.

You have to be out of your mind. That much money for those?
I wear vegan shoes and this is really going overboard. If Nat' wants supirior V-shoe for the red carpet , that's one thing, but for us working people, really?

Most of the cheap shoes sold today aren't even made out of leather. Also, vegetarian shoes doesn't mean you aren't harming the animals. Think about all of the chemicals that are going into the environment and harming the animals anyways.

Well, I can pass that on to the site owner. Were there specific broken links of concern?

[...] Natalie Portman’s shoe line, for example, charged something like $400 for ONE PAIR of boots. Yikes! It’s no wonder it didn’t do very well. If non-leather boots, pumps, etc. were featured in a store next to leather ones and were just as cute, but the same price or less, it stands to reason that people may actually be drawn to the vegan shoes. More people in vegan shoes means less people wearing dead animals. Brilliant! [...]

Not many sites carry them. Not sure why her vegan shoe line is not very widely available. They are in high demand

I am happy she launched this line of Vegan shoes, but who can afford them? Not any vegan I know. It would be nice if someone would design stylish vegan shoes that are actually affordable.

For vegan shoes, i’d probably opt for the Stella McCartney’s…just remember that vegan doesn’t necessarily mean “green” – what kind of pvc are they using?!
