Net-a-Porter celebrates 1 millionth order with a 40k giveaway

Net-a-Porter is celebrating a huge milestone – they have received one million orders! Congrats Net-a-Porter! To celebrate, they are giving one lucky winner a $40,000 shopping spree. In shoe speak, that’s about two months’ worth of Louboutins at roughly $666 a pair. Of course, the winner doesn’t need to spend it all on shoes. They’ll need to find an outfit that goes with the shoes. No purchase is necessary to enter, which you can do here.
On a personal side note, back when the internet was at it’s infancy, I remember the naysayers didn’t think that women’s online shopping would be successful. Not enough women online they would say. Or how can women shop when they don’t know their sizes. Net-a-Porter’s milestone is as much about their success as it is (to me at least) that women are a force and market that can’t be ignored.

Monacle? That is too funny. Galligator is bringing steam-punk to rural America one step at a time.
About the gravel driveway. Wear your fuzzy slippers to the car then put the on after you get in. I usually keep the slippers by the back door. I realize getting children into car the takes a massive amount of time and the slipper deal just adds another element to the time it takes.

Sharon, little country can still have big style. It's easy in a rural area (let alone a lot of suburbs these days) to seem overdressed compared to how casual the normal mode of dress had become….Just so long as you are comfortable within your own skin, I say go for it
The toughest part is taking time to make opportunities to wear favorite pieces and accessories (and don't I know what challenges having a gravel driveway does to shoe choices) instead of letting them sit in the closet.
I'm working toward an idea that I should love every piece in my closet and never be afraid to wear them or fail to wear them because I'm waiting for some dream occasion.
Heck, I felt a little self-conscious last week in our small town when Hubby, the kids & I went to Red Lobster (as fancy as it gets without driving 2 hours) and did the full dress-up. Hubby in slacks & a tweed vest with waist-chain/pocket monacle, I in black corseted dress, knee-boots & printed argyle tights. It was so much more dressed up than people are in this town on any occasion, even dinner out. But, the moment I walked in the door, I got compliments on my outfit. So, it may be the norm for folks to dress down in this part of the country, but you can make occasions to show your style in spite of all that.

Net-a-porter, is a genius brainchild that has just grown and matured, congratulations, 1 millionth order I live in a rural area of W.A, and not very computer savy, but when my darling gal pals put me in touch with this site I knew I had found a winner. I can't very often afford to make regular purchases, but the info, style and fashion advise you get just by, I guess even browsing is worth charging for, you have made a difference to our small insugnificant lives, we feel big city, not little country! To win the 40k giveaway would be a dream come true for somebody like me, it would keep me smiling for years!!! Congratulations, can't wait for the 2 millionth mark… Roll out the red carpet, its just around the corner. xxx

Yup, hit that nail on the head. I’ve always wondered why my (women’s) market is not desirable to TV marketers so that shows with female viewer growth often get cancelled. Newsflash: even in households where women are not the primary breadwinner, many of them work, and a large number control the normal day-to-day shopping decisions. Cater to me, I control the budgetary reigns!!!
