New York Fall 2009 Fashion Week is Upon Us!
Posted on February 14th, 2009 by jitterbugbaby under Fall 2009 Shoes, Fashion Week, Nicole Miller ShoesHooray, I say.
So, no, ready-to-wear doesn’t have quite the same potential for outrageousness as couture, but still, there are usually some interesting fall 2009 shoes parading down the runways.
The first one that struck me was, surprisingly BCBG. I usually dig their clothes, but their shoes often leave me cold. But this time, I was actually kind of into the way they played with textures and platforms in ways that are just different enough from the expected to give a bit of quirk.
Are you with me on this? Am I losing it? I dunno… I think those odd little angles on the platforms are neat. And the touches of wood-grain.
But Nicole Miller is the one that’s got me most excited so far. All kinds of little subtle touches of texture and shine and color. Take a peek.

The pretty pretty robin’s egg blue metallic finish on the soles! The shiny gunmetal leather! The color combinations with that red pebbled texturing!
Nice job!
