Nina Shoes Giveaway Winner
Posted on May 4th, 2009 by Shomore under Shoe ContestsLast month we were holding a contest for a pair of Nina Shoes. Well, I’m happy to report that the generous folks at Nina Shoes couldn’t pick a single winner…so they chose two!
Our winners are entries #11 from R5Bales and #38 from Kate. Both have incredible shopping experiences that I feel compelled to share. They were priceless experiences that will simply warm your hearts!
Synoposis from R5Bales: …When my daughter was 17 she did not dress like most 17 year olds, and wanted something different for her prom dress. I told her I would buy nothing that cost more than $150 for a prom dress.
We looked at what seemed to be every formal dress in the Phoenix metro area. We had been shopping for five hours and found nothing. Nearing the end of the day, exhausted, we went to Nordstroms to go to the restroom, I suggested we look at their formal wear. There, tucked in the sale rack, size 6 was a pink beaded silk dress that fit her personality and her body like it was made for her. Price tag: $159. We went down to the shoe area and found a pair of crystal encrusted sandals on sale for $65. She bought the shoes, I bought the dress.
Why was this so memorable? I remember how exhausted we were, how excited we were to find this perfect dress, how beautiful she looked, and how many times since she has worn both the dress and the shoes.
Congrats R5Bales! Prom is such a memorable event for a young lady and think your daughter will always remember the exhausting but perfect ending to a day of dress shopping with mom.
R5Bales picked Nina’s Detra sandal to wear - I’ll bet it’s perfect for those hot desert summers in Arizona.

Synopsis from Kate: My mom is an amazing women she really does sacrifice so much for her children, me and my sisters and she would rather spend money on us then herself… She has made do with the same clothes for more than 15 years and I was so happy to be there when she scored the biggest deal ever. We went shopping one day…We were casually browsing the racks when suddenly a supple leather bag caught my eye. i quickly grabbed it and realized that it was Chloe bag! And since it was a consignment store i guess the workers did not realize the gem that it was since they only priced it at $90!! I ran over to my mom and showed her and she got so excited and began telling me how great it would look on me and how it would go with so many outfits! I bought the bag and when we got into the car i turned to her and told her that I wanted to have it. Knowing how much i loved the bag and really wanted it and realizing that I loved her so much made her tear up and all she could do was hug me. That was the best experience of my life!
Kate, it sounds like your mom is a remarkable and giving person. She’s also quite lucky to have such a thoughtful daughter too. We didn’t plan for this, but it looks like you’re going to be able to gift your mom and early Mother’s Day present. Those Nina’s Dryden boots you picked out are sure to go well with the Chloe bag.

Thanks to everyone who entered the contest. All of you had wonderful adventures shopping and it was a pleasure to read them all. And if you didn’t win this contest, stay tuned. We’ve got more on the way!
