NY Fashion Week: Fall 08 Boots
Posted on February 4th, 2008 by jitterbugbaby under Fall 2008 Shoes, Fashion WeekEveryone expects boots to appear in Fall fashion shows, of course. But I can’t say I’m much pleased with some of the boots out there on the New York Fashion Week runways.
The Alexandre Herchcovitch booties that Shomore mentioned are the most interesting (and to my mind, the best designed) ones we’ve seen so far. I sure as hell am not feeling the Lacoste moon boots.
Apart from them, we’ve got these wooly mammoths from Miss Sixty.

These baggy drawstring boots from Charles Nolan look like the cinched trash bag you leave to be picked up at the curb.

DKNY gets points for interesting color on these teal booties, but the design is a bit *yawn* even for ready to wear. Tims, anyone?

Ditto for these Herve Leger by Max Azria platform booties. Interesting material, boring design.

I do indeed love these Ohne Titel fleur-de-lis patterned bootie, but I HATE HATE HATE the matchy-matchy full-body patterned look.

In fact, my Best Accessory award to this point goes not to a shoe, but to a hat. Specifically, this one from the James Coviello show. *mwah* There’s a fashion creation, all right. And because I can’t help the bad pun, hats off to this beribboned, feathered, jeweled topper.

And what’s a Best Accessory award without a corresponding Worst Accessory award, eh? Without a doubt Worst Accessory goes to this velcro sandal from Yigal Azrouël, which is the bastard love child of a sexy black stiletto and your granny’s orthopedic comfort sandals.

Y’know, you pay the big bucks to get your legs waxed and it just grows back every time (re: the Ugg Fluff Momma inspired doozies).
