NY Spring 2008 Fashion Week Shoe Mismatches
Posted on September 13th, 2007 by Shomore under Fashion Week, Walking DisastersI really want to hate the runway models for their gorgeous looks and cushy thousand dollar runway fees. On occasion though, I admit to having a bit of sympathy of them. When I look at some of the detailed NY 2008 runway shoe shots, I have to say that there are lots of feet that look miserable. I’m sure sizes are limited so the girls with irregular sizes and foot shapes must be feeling it.
From Oscar de la Renta, this pinky toe is having a coming out party.

Anna Sui always puts her best toe forward.

Same goes for Philip Lim

This girl, in a Doo.Ri shoe, looks like she wants to step out in style.

Calvin Klein’s girl is giving us a wave. I’m actually glad this girl has a little wiggle room

because this girl, in Donna Karan, is looking a little pink.

Admittedly,it doesn’t help that I’m scrutinizing a snapshot in time. The shoes may actually be quite comfy and I may be reading some of the feet colors wrong. And I have to say that I was pleased to NOT discover any videos of nasty falls from shoe mismatches / high heel heights this year. With that, I leave you with one of the most heartbreaking falls ever, from Vivienne Westwood’s Spring 2007 collection. This girl takes not one but two nasty spills, the latter of which makes me wonder how her ankles survived the fall.
