Do you ever wonder what’s the next big idea in shoes? I mean, the next big design idea, something revolutionary on a par with, say, platform shoes, or wedges, or the peep-toe craze. (And as far away as possible from Crocs, thank you very much.) I know, I know–I may be asking for too much. I may be already jaded beyond repair due to the thousands and thousands of pairs of shoes I’ve seen lately (the WSA Show was a blur of intense, colorful visual stimuli, which, while beyond exciting, left me dazed and dazzled, but also a little drained).

Still, I will not relent. I love shoes with a purple passion and I will always be on the look-out for new, interesting, exciting design developments. Which is why these Lulu Guinness heart-shaped heel cut-out shoes put a fresh wind under my wings:

Adorable, or what? I’ve been all about the peep-toe this year, shelling good money for at least three such pairs; but perhaps the future is (at least for a fraction of a season, that is) in peep-heels?
