Prada at Barneys

I love Barneys. I just get a little frisson of pleasure every time I walk in that place, or even by it. I used to work so near it that I could go every other day during lunch. I like how they tread a bit on the avant-garde side with their shoe collections.

Right now they’ve got some fun stuff, and Prada’s Leather Lug Sole Boot is in the window. Now, regardless of how you feel about the weird boot strap trend, this window display feels fun. It feels like the boot strap is holding up the whole of the leg, suspended in air. And the boot is SO practical (but the strap makes it still a little bit sexy a la Lara Croft). If you have to straggle through a haggard winter, you might as well do it in one of the most trusted shoe brands ever. At $779, they’d better be enjoyable!

I still have my ombre Prada heels and wear them when it’s not too slippery outside. They are still in amazing shape after 4 years. I love you Prada.
