Prada Patent Leather Platform Sandals

It’s not too terribly often that I come across something I haven’t ever seen before – like the rare treat of those gorgeous fiber optic works of art from Anastasia Radevich (which still make me shiver!). This time, however, Prada’s caught me by surprise. I’m not saying there are no sandals like these Patent Leather Platform Sandals ($650 at Saks) out there, I am just saying that I can’t recall ever seeing anything like these before.

I have to tell you, I love them to death. I almost feel like I really shouldn’t, but I definitely do. There’s something about the shape, the overall silhouette, that really tickles my fancy. I mean, this sandal is basically all platform. It’s all platform and three little straps. I don’t know, it’s kind of like the shoe version of a string bikini or something.

Obviously, yeah, it’s not a winter friendly shoe. I can’t help it, everyone debuting their awesome Spring/Summer lines and I just keep finding new, sunny day shoes that I love. Here, although they are also available in black, I love the pink color. I am, as I think I’ve said before, just really into pink lately. Then, like I mentioned, there is both the shape and the silhouette. I mean, I like the fact that these sandals are just a platform and three straps, basically.

The wedge is self covered and it is 3 inches, or 75 millimeters, high, while the platform – also self covered – is 1 and ¾ inches, or 45 millimeters, high.

Prada really knows how to do simplistic chic like nobody’s business. Do you like the simple lines here, or do you prefer something a little more complex?
