Praise for Prada’s Lace-Up Clog Booties

I am a huge fan of clogs – when they are well made and stylish, of course. I’ve been into them since the dewy days of my youth, when, in the mid 1990s, they suddenly rose to popularity again. Prada, it goes without saying, does just about everything well, and that includes clogs. The label’s Lace-Up Clog Booties ($594.99 at Saks) are just about the cutest, most original things I have ever seen. And once again, shoe lovers, Saks has them on sale a pretty impressive amount: they’re currently down from $850.
One of the reasons I am so fond of Prada’s take on clogs is because they are booties as well, and they seem extremely winter friendly in addition to being super fashionable. They have a shearling lining and a shearling cuff, and I can only imagine it serves to make them wonderfully warm and comfy. They have a stacked heel of 6 inches even, but since the wooden platform comes out to 2 inches, the heel is actually comparable to 4 inches. P.S., I love the fact that this is a wooden clog – if you’re going to do it, you’ve got to do it right, and that is definitely doing it right.
I love the leather on these boots as well. It has a crackled texture that I think makes it look really unique. I also love the dark chocolate cover and the way it contrasts yet complements both the silver studded detailing and the lighter color of the wood.
Basically? I just want these, a whole, whole lot.
But tell me: do you think clogs are done, or can they make a comeback again?

I think clogs are a love it or hate it style for a lot of us. So, these aren't blowing my skirt up…but I'm sure there are other gals who find these swoon-worthy. More variety for all of us… at least it keeps things from getting to staid & boring.
