Proenza Schouler at Saks.com
Posted on February 4th, 2009 by galligator under Flats, Focus on the Shoe Brand, High heels, Platforms, Sandals, Shoe Brands, Spring 2008 shoesRegular Shoeblog readers may recall September of last year when we saw some very intriguing styles from Proenza Schouler’s spring 2009 runway show.
For those of you who want a chance to own some of these styles, they have started to appear online via Saks.com.
The first two shoes below are very close to styles seen on the runway; including the strangely organic skeletal heels that immediately bring to my mind the various ’biomechanical’ artworks by HR Giger.
Proenza Schouler Cutout Sandals $875.
Proenza Shouler Pleated Peep-Toe Sandals $1095.
If these are too unusual for you, there is also an on-trend version of the still-popular gladiator/spat sandal:
Proenza Schouler Flat Zip Sandals $1050.
Admittedly, the flats are really not my style. There would be too much chance of ‘the shoes wearing me’ rather than the other way around.
I could, however (were finances to permit) completely see myself sporting that wicked and slightly dangerous-looking cutout heel.
Bring on the towering Femme Fatale!

I want to buy them just to laugh at them when I’m in a bad mood.

Oh wow those are wild. I wouldn’t want to wear them - I think they belong on the runway.

Oo-la-la– I think those first black lace-up ones are AMAZING! I am not a big heel fan (at least not on me), but I would definitely be willing to suffer to wear those!

Their cute if you want to go to an S+M club.

Femme fatale is right. I think these shoes are absolutely banging. Talk about shoes empowering women. I think any woman in her right mind should feel like a dark and mysterious goddess in these. I’m really glad that y’all are featuring designers like Schouler…she’s got great ideas and way more women should be wearing her stuff. The best kinds of shoes incorporate wild structure, and I think that these are just that.
