Runway to Retail: Christopher Kane Fall 2010

(Christopher Kane embroidered lace-up Ghillie boots)

Boots very similar to this retail version were shown on the Christopher Kane (London) runway for his Fall 2010 show.  Sexy and romantic, Ghillie-laced heels were the shoe of choice for this show. I am happy to let our readers know that these shortened, ankle-boot variants  (‘Giuseppe Zanotti for Christopher Kane’) are available now via Net-a-porter and Luisa via Roma for the small pittance of $1360-$1428. While not exactly lunch money, I can at least dream of scoring a pair of these at clearance prices or post-season overstock sales.

Here’s a quick comparison peek at the original runway styles:

Unfortunately, hubby prefers the higher,  runway version of these embroidered beauties to the retail version,  but I wouldn’t particularly  mind ‘settling for’  these ankle boots if I could realistically work out a budget for them.

A girl can dream, right.? In the meantime, I’ll be crossing my fingers to find these at The Outnet or YOOX come spring or summer.

Oh, and for those of you who prefer the toned-down version without all of the embroidery? Luisa Via Roma has both the shorter black leather & taller black patent versions available. Those will run you $1220 and $1306, respectively.

ETA: The taller version of the embroidered boots are currently available via Brownsfashion.com for £890; they are also selling the shorter, beaded, version as well for  £1525.

Pearl – fantastic find. When I first posted these, they were just starting to show up at retail. It always takes awhile to see who will be carrying each designer style. Unfortunately, I'm still on shoe-restriction for at least 6 months (part of my healthy budget initiative from this year.). But, I'll be glad to know someone out there is enjoying their mini-splurge on such lovely shoes.

The model's probably are way to small. Runway shoes are often a poor fit since models outfits & shoes aren't designed to their particular measure (I really feel for the models with size 10 feet stuck trying to walk in size 8 =shoes).

find it hard to get used to peep toe boots even if there's a lot of strapping. The model seems to be wearing a pair that's way too small for her.

Just found the higher version at Browns & added that link to the story. Also thought it was worth adding that these are Giuseppe Zanotti for Christopher Kane. Why am I not surprised?

I prefer the runway versions as well. They have a more artistic touch to them.
