Ruthie Davis: Sushi Combo Shoes
Posted on November 5th, 2009 by Shomore under Flats, PumpsIf you can’t beat the recession, then work around it. That’s shoe designer’s Ruthie Davis’ mantra during these trying times. The collection of shoe “combos” consisting of one Davis by Ruthie Davis pump and one takedown flat in the same color so you can guarantee that the outfit will match the shoes. Each shoe is crafted from Italian leather with some featuring hardware details. The two shoes are sold together for $698 to $798, which isn’t exactly a recession bargain but you are getting 2 shoes where you would typically only be able to purchase 1. The shoe combo comes with a Ruthie Davis graffiti bag, made for toting the shoes around for work or travel. And in keeping with the sushi-named collection, the styles bear the names such as Tempura, Edamame, and Sashimi. Anyone up for some sushi?

Wow, this idea makes great sense. I just think of the nights when i am finished dancing i want to take off my shoes before walking to the car. but i dare not. A flat pair with the same look would be so great. Two pair of shoes for one price is great for many reasons. Yeah i am ready for some sushi!

[...] With the recession going on, it was a good idea, but in fact we’re not sure…Shoe designer Ruthie Davis launched a collection of shoe “combos” consisting of one Davis by Ruthie Davis pump and one takedown flat in the same color. Each shoe is crafted from Italian leather with some featuring hardware details. The two shoes are sold together for $698 to $798, which is very expensive to my honest opinion, but you are getting a Ruthie Davis graffiti bag, made for toting the shoes around for work or travel. And in keeping with the sushi-named collection, the styles are named after our favoutites japanese treats: Tempura, Edamame, and Sashimi. Read more here. [...]

Genius, genius. I am drawn to the flats, of course, since I am deathly scared of heels.

Funny, I’m the opposite. Flats always leave my arches aching & give me blisters.
