See by Chloe Baseball Pinstripe Wedge Sneakers
posted by: freePOrnaoa in General on February 18th, 2011
I am amused by this See By Chloe wedge sneaker, $345 at Iris in the Meatpacking District.
I mean, besides the somewhat outrageous price for a sneaker, even if it is a high fashion wedge, this just leaves me wondering what I’d wear it with.
White skinnies in denim? I mean, what else could you possibly wear this with?
When I first started seeing high-heeled sneakers, I was in total disbelief. I would say I would never wear this, but in fashion, Never Say Never! I once said I would never wear hammerpants … I was wrong, dead wrong.
What do you think, ladies? Would you wear these and if so, with what?

Wow guys! Your suggestions are wonderful. I am really impressed. Thank you! I love #3 in particular, Julia M! Tina Marie, wide legs are definitely in and I would try it!

These would look fabulous with the wide leg jeans that are hot right now. Sometimes you just want to throw on some sneakers with your jeans but because those jeans are so long, you normally wouldn't be able to. A solution to your problem!

You could do a few different things, and if you're fashionably adventurous, you could tread into some pretty exciting territory.
1. A couple of seasons ago, denim on denim was fresh. However, it only looked exciting, new, and not dated when different types or shades of denim were combined in the same outfit. You could mix a combination of navies, pale blues, dark washes, or whites with these pants for some exciting outfits. This spring 2011 season, especially, is one where denim is evolving into a more versatile fabric. One can find work-appropriate denim blouses, blazers, cigarette pants in different shades.
2. The past few seasons, there was a great deal of pattern mixing. I like the stripes on this wedge, and I think one could create a pretty funky look by throwing in pieces with polka dot prints. I think gold or goldenrod polka dots would look great with these shoes. Or you could even pair a dress in a shade of blue similar to the blue stripes of the shoes with white polka dots. If you top off a dress like that with a brown or gold belt, it would look pretty cute!
3. Tie white ribbons around your legs up to your midcalves so that the shoes have a summery espadrille feel. Wear with lacy bloomers and a canvas textured blazer. Or you could pair your new "espadrilles" with a scallop-hemmed romper. Or you could even wear a really high-waisted pencil skirt with a bralet (I seriously love that trend and am working out until I have the abs to pull it off!) — who cares if that trend is at least a year old? Anyone with the confidence to pull it off will look amazing!
Good luck! If I think of any more, I will gladly post.

I personally don't think I would wear this shoe but somebody who has crazy ideas for fashion might.
