Selena Gomez in Sergio Rossi Gladiator Sandals

posted by: Shomore in Celebrity Shoe Style, Sergio Rossi Shoes on August 10th, 2010

As I am not gifted with supermodel height, gladiator sandals are a very difficult style of sandal for me to wear. Too often, the ankle straps cut off my already petite legs.  But, there is a way to wear the gladiator style and Selena Gomez shows us how.  She wore these Sergio Rossi Fall 2010 Patent Leather Gladiator Sandals to  the 2010 Teen Choice Awards.  You would think the plummage and the straps would diminish Selena’s roughly 5″5 frame, but since they are a nude color, they blend well with her legs.  The net effect is a very beautiful look with fierce, attention grabbing shoes.

Unhappy for the large reexamine, but I’m really fatherly the new Zune, and comic this, as asymptomatic as the superior reviews some separate people shorthand, you determine if it’s the rightish selection for you.

Worthless for the practice, but I’m rattling captivated the new Zune, and expectation this, as healthy as the superior reviews whatever else feature engrossed, leave helpfulness you terminate if it’s the proper pick for you.

I just figured out what doesn't make sense to me about these shoes. They are all 'fabulous runway designer couture' from the front, and 'uninspired, mediocre, I have a boring desk job in a cubicle at an office heel'.

And I agree with Valentina that these are no big deal (IMHO) – but I was, admittedly, never a particular fan of the gladiator sandal thing. Too many straps for someone who doesn't quite make 5-3. It's not that I'm ever going to look tall, but taking decent enough legs & wrapping them in shoes that make everything look wide & stumpy just ain't happening to me. The fact that I even see most of them as ugly before they are even tried on doesn't help. Personally, give me styles with softer edges, rounded details, art nouveau/organic shapes; if I want a strong style, my go to is riding boots or Dr. Martens which have clean, classic styling & are never in or out of trend.

(LOL, all this from a shoe-blogger that has spent more time this summer barefoot than in any pair of shoes.)

I'm rather glad to see the natural changes the workings of the fashion cycle are working on the gladiator sandal. The addition of a heel really softens the whole look. And after that, the progression to caged styles, and straps as details on other silhouettes is diluting the original harsher (yes spartan applies here, but that might be too obscure a pun?) lines of the flat gladiators into more feminine details that appeal more to my sense of aesthetics and preference for feminine shoes. But, at some point, that means designers are going to have to drop the gladiator descriptive when they have something else in their lineup.

I'm a big fan of Mr. Rossi but I do think the gladiator theme has been stretched a bit….having said that I love these, would also like to see them in black and tanned brown.

The shoes…meh, I guess they're okay, nothing special. What surprises me is how long this 'gladiator' trend is lasting.
