Sergio Rossi Crystal Spiral Heel Sandals

Luisaviaroma.com may just be my new favorite online store-that-I-can’t-afford-to-shop-at. The sound you are  now hearing  is me sighing  wistfully.

Self-pity over; here’s a treat from the website in question. Set your eyes on this sparkling Sergio Rossi creation.

The strappy caged upper hints at the shape of a bow. Certainly these would be an amazing present for any shoe-lover to receive – no gift wrap required.

With that earthy bronze tone and glamorous shine, they are perfect for both summer and fall evenings in either dressy skirts or classic denim.

Plus, crystal embellishments have been steadily increasing in popularity with shoe designers throughout the year. As someone who has become exhausted with this years ‘studs, studs, and even more studs’ trend for shoes, sandals, and boots – crystals are a refreshing way to give a shoe added depth and dimension without resorting the the now-ubiquitous studs. And, if you find just one crystal style shoe or sandal that you adore, it will never go out of fashion – so long as there are romantic evenings with our hubbies or hotties to be had.

And, of course, there’s that show-stopping, corkscrew-stiletto heel.  Both men and women are likely to find themselves suffering from sudden cases of whiplash after you stroll by.

Stunning; Simply stunning.

Sarah Marshall wore a black version at Cannes 2009. Her outfit was black satin pansuit, it's a little country western singer-ish, but not Blanche-ish . Maybe that will help Gal get rid of the mental picture.

AEJ – I understand hesitation particularly when there is a pencil stiletto involved. Admittedly, my few stilettos are a bit more substantial at the point where they actually connect to the shoe. I know there are a lot of women who wear these type of super skinny stilettos without problems, so the engineering seems to be sound, but heel-experienced that I am, I have a clutzy tendency to bump into tables (this is sans alcool) – therefore the most extreme stilettos tend, by me, to be viewed from afar rather than on my own feet (plus, $2300 puts these waaayyy down the list of non-essentials in my life.)

Now, I may have to go through the day with Blanche Deveraux images on the brain. *chuckle*

Yeah, I don't know why, but Blanche Deveraux (Golden Girls) IN PANTYHOSE, instantly popped into my head when I saw these!

I'm with Valentina on this one. Not only those points, but I'd be afraid to walk on that heel. I think I'd have to jog a few times around the block and do a few sit-ups first. Maybe skip dinner for a week, too. It just looks so fragile.

Well, once you add in the whole 60ish cougar vision, that would be a hard visual to overcome. I'm able to see it on a 20-40 gal in just above the knee cocktail dress. But then, it would never have occurred to me that people actually wear all of those sequined dresses you see in magazines. My rule is fabulous shoes with understated outfits & vice versa. It's either the outfit or the shoes that carry the look, both tends to get….let's just be nice & say 'distracting'.

Perhaps I need to see them up close and in person, they're really not blowing me away at all. I'm having visions of a quirky, wealthy, sixty-ish, cougar type wearing these with stockings and a sequined dress at 'singles night'. Shudders.
