Shoe Fashion at the People’s Choice Awards
Posted on January 9th, 2009 by Shomore under Celebrity Shoe Style, Christian Louboutin Shoes, Stuart Weitzman ShoesJanuary is always a fun month for me. It represents a fresh slate, marks the end of show reruns, and kicks off the award show season, which translates into lots of red carpet shoe fashion. The 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards was held earlier this week and I certainly got a great taste of the footwear we’ll see as we gear up for the Golden Globes Awards this weekend.
On the People’s Choice red carpet, singer Jordan Sparks worn a surprisingly affordable blue Jessica McClintock dress ($180 at eDressMe) with Stuart Weitzman’s Eiffel shoes (on sale at Zappos for $288). While the dress is a bit too prom-like for me, I think she made an excellent choice on the gold jeweled shoes.
Another star who opted for blue was actress Dakota Fanning in a cute BCBGGirls dress. Unlike other starlets who shall remain nameless, her dress is very appropriate for her age. While I wish Dakota had opted for another color for her shoes, I wholeheartedly approve of the shoe style. What better way to initiate yourself into high heels than to wear a high wedge with mary-jane straps for extra support.
Always the fashion risk taker, Kude Hudson wore a Spring 2009 Gucci dress and Guisepp Zanotti two-toned pumps.
Reese Witherspoon played it safe in a black dress with Christian Louboutin Very Prive peep-toe pumps
Carrie Underwood wore a few outfits to the awards, but my favorite is this Spring 2009 Jenny Packman tangerine dress paired with Stuart Weitzman Exert platforms. The gold Stuart Weitzman’s complimented the dress much better than the shoes worn by the model, where there was just too much orange.
Another Stuart Weitzman wearer was 90210’s Jessica Stroup. She wore the anthracite Wicky platforms with her Herve Leger dress.
Marisa Tomei was a beautiful lady in red. The dress itself was a tad simple, but with the necklace and nude Christian Louboutin Patent Platforms, this was one of my favorite looks of the evening.
I saved my favorite look for last. It was worn by House’s Jennifer Morrison, whom I barely recognized. This metallic gold shield Gianfranco Ferre dress was accessorized with Christian Louboutin Double Platform slingbacks.

I fell in love with Jordan Sparks’s gold jeweled shoes, but, you’re right, the dress might have been better.

BCBG dresses are definitely in! But my attention was captured more by Marissa Tomei’s red dress. Very lovely!

[...] I completely missed this shoe before (darn those long dresses!) but here’s Taraji Henson in a rhinestone buckle, satin version of the Stuartz Weitzman Wicky (pewter version is $335 at Zappos) at the 2009 Golden Globes Awards. The same shoe but in a different color was worn by Jessica Stroupe for the People’s Choice Awards. [...]
