The holidays are about family time. It’s the only time of the year my very loud, very large family all gets together. And food. Oh, the food. My sister, cousins, and I all compete with each other on deserts, and it always means the entire family is sacked in a chocolate coma on Boxing Day.

I am also following you on twitter now! I didn’t know you had one. @wickedtrue

My favorite thing about the holidays is the kind spirit exhibited by what appears to be everyone! Around every turn, in every coffee shop, in every boutique – everyone is just as kind and polite as can be. I was walking out of Starbucks with a hand full of goodies when a gentleman who was passing by stopped to open the door for me. He wished me a Merry Christmas and continued on his way – he wasn’t even stopping into Starbucks! I was so flattered by his kindness and it was just another example of the Christmas spirit people tend to share during the holidays! :)

I love the holidays because I can see my parents, and that’s once a year now, because I live in another country.

Mom will make lots of nice food, and she knows what my favorites are.
I can also enjoy once a year those lavish meals … healthy and yummy at the same time.
I can sleep in till 10 am daily without feeling guilty.

Dad goes to work and returns at about 6, so we will get together for a normal but not-that-normal dinner like when I was little.

My 86 y/o grandfather is grumpy but when he cries when he sees me leaving.

I m quite happy just to see that all of them are still happy and fine.

I booked the air tickets to visit them in another 5 weeks!!! :D

My favorite part of the holidays is getting able to relax and connect with friends and family. We obviously all have hectic lives, but coming together on Christmas Eve is always a blast. And New Year’s Eve is always an adventure, too.

I love that the whole family (36 and growing) gathers in one place and call out each gift one by one and cheers after every gift. The kiddies are in the front row with their garbage bags anxiously waiting for the last gift to be called so they can open their present. Even Uncle Louie who is in jeans and a flannel year round comes dressed in a sportcoat and polished dress shoes.

One of my favorites would definitely be having the house smell like baked goods 24/7, especially after my brother and I make our own gingerbread to make gingerbread houses with :) We’re never closer to each other than during the holidays :)

What I love about the holiday season is the excuse to wear rocking Christmas fashions which gets everyone in the Christmas spirit. But in all truth what I love most about holiday season is the spirit, the willingness to give more than to receive, to enjoy the little things, and to acknowledge something greater than ourselves. My only wish is that this spirit would continue throughout the year and not just one month during the year.

I love love love spending time with my loved ones. I remember one Christmas on my own and although I’ve talked myself into the fact that I’m just going to ignore Christmas this year, it didn’t work and it was the loneliest day and made me realise what it mean.

Making an effort of spending precious time with your loved ones and understand how lucky you are that you have loved ones that want to spend it with you.

Forget gifts – time is the best gift you can give away – or at least in my humble opinion (ok I take this back as I do love unwrapping two :D ).

    Merry Xmas everyone xxx

We go out almost everyday, have loads of fun, cheer our football team and stuff.. Holidays are also fun because that's when I can go to my island( we have 1192 islands) away from the capital city, breathe fresh air, and take walks in foresets with high heels on.. its so much fun.. xD

Fab prizes, I love them.. xD

i love the holidays because of how it brings my family together. we may have our differences and many, many hardships, but somehow on those special days, they disappear for a few hours. we spend time together and laugh, and then end up crying from laughing too hard. it makes all the real world problems seem like we can overcome them… even if it's for that small amount of time.
