Shoes at the 2008 Sag Awards
Posted on January 27th, 2008 by Shomore under Celebrity Shoe StyleDespite the strike, recent passing of Heath Ledger, and dreary weather, Hollywood put their best foot forward on Sunday for the 2008 SAG Awards.
Sadly, like most award shows, we usually only get a peep of celebrity shoe style (this year pointy shoes appear quite in)
or an occasional glimpse of Louboutins.
But sometimes we strike gold. Mindy Kaling of The Office gets our vote for the Best Jeweled Sandals.
Sometimes, proving that celebrities are like us and prone to fashion faux paus, the shoe choices leave me scratching my head. My award for Most Ill Fitted shoe goes to Hairspray actress Nikki Blonsky. Those shoes are probably 1 or 2 sizes to big. Yikes!
Joey Fatone gets a thumbs up from the ankles up but a big thumbs down for the patent leather sneakers.
But Marcia Cross gets a thumbs up for finding shoes to match her beautiful teal dress.
But I’m sure the question on many of our fashionable minds was on Angelina Jolie. Her choice of a loose flowing gown left many wondering whether she was once again with child.

I bet anything that Nikki sized up in shoes to accommodate a wide foot. It can be difficult to find sassy heels for the big girl; when I lost weight I found that I was actually a size 8.5 shoe, not a 9.5…it’s just that 9.5 (medium-width) shoes were the size that was wide enough to deal with my foot-pudge.
Manolo for the Big Girl showcases wide widths for just this reason, and they come up with some real stunners!

I bet you’re right, Laura! Don’t you wish they made these glitzy evening shoes in wider sizes? Hey, wide feet can happen to skinny people, too–I’ve seen it happen.

Wow, Nikki looks like a stranded whale!

Wow Didda! I bet that strained the hell out of both of your brain cells to insult a pretty gorl like Nikki. Women look better when they accept themselves of ANY size rather than try to look like a skeleton.
