Spring 2011 Shoe Sketches

Women’s Wear Daily has a preview of twenty-one spring 2011 shoe sketches. According to the mag, we can look forward to new level of sophistication with designers adding “femininity to chunkier silhouettes using painterly prints and exotic details. Architectural constructions also continue to build a following, while contrasting textures liven up the season’s best styles.”

I so love shoe illustrations, they're always so interesting in the way the artist shows off the details, and creates a stylized version of the shoes. These are especially pretty, and I downloaded the whole bunch, as I I'll print & frame them and surprise my Punk Glam Princess' with some very grown up pretties to dream on (she's inherited mum's predilection for shoe mania!) I think I'm most enamoured (like you) with Nicole Brundage's pink frothy confection. My vivid imagination is dreaming of the fabrications, details, and the final product and I hope they live up to my dream shoes! Thanks for bringing this to my attention, its was a happy way to start what will be a rather sad, brutal Saturday!
