SS Fashion Week Footwear: Runway Drive-by

OK, friends, I have lots of interesting shoes to share from the NYC runways, so here goes.
We start before the jump with this one from Preen, which I put here, not because I like it or want to wear it or think it would be comfortable, but because it answers the question What would it look like if LEGOs and doilies and bikers had a baby and it took the form of footwear? And since that’s a question I just know you were all asking yourselves, I didn’t want to keep the answer from you one second longer.

And I will give you this one, too, from the Carolina Herrera show, because rarely have I seen a shoe that looks THIS painful to wear.

Now follow along after the cut for many more.
Right… still with me?
OK then, here we go.
Some of this is starting to look familiar by now.
Donna Karan showed us some more mixed materials and buckled and/or zipped ankle straps (right on trend).

More ankle straps at Marc by Marc Jacobs, in kicky candy colors.

Zero + Maria Cornejo thankfully seem to be doing away with the “stripper shoe platform”, and in some intriguing shapes, too.  Plus cheery yellow nail polish!

However, Betsey Johnson’s keeping that stripper platform alive and well (and how)!

And last, but not least, we’re seeing even more of that futuristic Blade Runner-y inspiration I talked about over this-a-way, this time at Vera Wang (left) and Hervé Légér (right).  I’m all over this look, too, but I’ll have to wait and see if versions of it come out in heels that I could conceivably walk in.  Or at least stand up.
