Surreal Sandals
Posted on April 19th, 2007 by shoesense under High heelsSometimes I think designers are just there to kid with us. They’re not really serious all the time about making footwear, but rather eye-candy which merely happens to be displayed on a dainty woman’s foot. Walking? Go bore someone else with your practicalities. These Diego Dolcini sandals fall into that uncertain realm of not quite shoe–and not quite jewelry, but definitely surreal art:

Love the color combination–the seafoam green leather strap, the turquoise sole, the diamante detailing, the spiky golden heel (4.5 inches!). For a pair of shoes you won’t be able to really wear (not too often, anyway, and not for long), they’re quite pricey; as a pretty piece of art you can display on a shelf, they cost next to nothing–$284 at Yoox.
