Moschino C10112ISP1 “Money Shoe”

Posted by galligator in Fall 2008 Shoes, High heels, Moschino Shoes, Pumps, Spot the Shoe on Sale, Walking Disasters

Call me crazy.  Ridicule my taste, style & judgment.  Whatever; in this instance, I don’t care.  I am insanely haunted by this (admittedly) utterly impractical shoe. I have absolutely no occasion, outfit, or excuse to wear these. But, sometimes there is no conscious rationale behind our attraction to a particular shoe.  So fine, I’m irrational.  I think I can deal with that.

Moschino C10112ISP1 $490 $275.64 at Overstock.com

Considering the ever-increasing prices of designer shoes, Moschino’s visual pun on shoe-bling and pricey styles falls more toward art than utility. I love it.  What an apt commentary on the amounts we shoe-obsessed women can be convinced to pay for a beautiful shoe-crush.  This shoe is such a great bit of tongue-in-cheek irony that I would love to own it just to but it on display in its own little curio nook.  It would be fun to add a hint of self-mockery to my decor - particularly since my little shoe-obsession is no secret to most of  those who know me.

And, unless I am mistaken, art may be the only wise way to purchase this particuler “last pair” at Overstock; someone has apparently neglected to note the shoe size in the item description.

Pan E. Tulipani: Floral High Heels

Posted by galligator in High heels, Hot Shoe Deals and Steals, Pumps, Sandals, Spot the Shoe on Sale, Spring 2008 shoes, Zappos

Uh Oh. Here I go again with the poetry …

Roses are Red,

Violets are Blue,

Sugar is Sweet,

And so are You:

Maybe it’s the sunshine this weekend. Sure, it may be chilly outside; but, at over 50 degrees today (for a refreshing change) it is so bright and sunny outside that I can’t help but think of spring, flowers, and the eventual return of summer … and all of the things that come with the warmer weather. Things like sandals and sundresses rather than boots and bomber jackets.

So, since the next week or two (according to my ‘09 Garden Almanac’) are great times to plant roses - today is an ode to a rose-adorned shoe; part of an ongoing effort to control my growing spring fever.

Enjoy.

Let’s Make it a Moschino Monday.

Why Moschino?

Simple. Zappos.com has a number of styles on last-chance clearance in limited sizes and lowered prices. That’s pretty much reason enough to chase away any ‘Case of the Mondays’ a shoe-lover might have.

The New Years holiday may be over, but every gal should have at least one metallic evening shoe in her collection. It’s always a great match for the requisite LBD. Strappy details make this all the better.

Sure, it doesn’t have an actual Red Sole; but that fire-engine heel will still turn heads when you wear this be-ribboned shoe that avoids cute and moves right on over to sexy.

Moschino C16200 IS40 06 $207.00 $399 @ Zappos.

Have I shown these to you before? They make my heart skip a beat … I really can’t stop looking at this lovely shoe. The color, the cut …. I love this simple and sexy D’orsay.

Finally, there are the floral beaded shoes that are firmly in the ‘Sweet’ category:

I like the florals; when I am surrounded by snow, shoes that remind me of spring are always a welcome site.

Dreaming of a Blue Christmas, Mr. Cavalli.

Posted by galligator in High heels, Hot Shoe Deals and Steals, Just Cavalli, Manolo Blahnik Shoes, Pumps, Spot the Shoe on Sale, Spring 2008 shoes

The view out my front door is a veritable Winter Wonderland:

So, rather than wish for a White Christmas, which would be nothing shy of redundant, I’ll share my wish for Something Blue.

Just Cavalli Blue Satin Peep Toe Heel $163 $545 at DJPremium.com; All for one lucky size 7/37 out there in shoe-land. Looking at these, I am somewhat reminded of Carrie’s SATC $945 blue satin Manolo wedding shoes; maybe it’s the color & elegant lines.

Crisp and Ice Blue - What a perfect Winter Treat!

Veterans Day: Show Your Colors

Posted by galligator in High heels, Pumps, Spring 2008 shoes, Zappos

For those of you here in the United States, I wish you a thoughtful and safe Veterans Day.  To all those who have served, past and present, I am taking this moment to say Thank You.  Your willingness to put yourself at risk for your fellow citizens as well as for the ideals of honor, duty, and freedom makes this former military brat proud and thankful for your commitment and sacrifice.

And, for all of our Shoeblog.com readers, I proudly unfurl my own flag-inspired favorite that I reserve just for patriotic occasions:

Steve Madden Lejune at Zappos.com

Wear your colors proudly and with honor.
